Anyone remeber when everyone said WII was a fad

I think your missing the fact that Wii hardware sells so good because of their good software.

 

I agree I would say Nintendo is probably the top game publisher in the world, what I am saying is back in the day sega made great games since they went multiplatform there games have not been as good.  If nintendo went muti platofrom would there game quality suffer was my point. 

Just to clarify Nintendo is not going multi plat they are making tons on money on the WII, we are talking hypothetically

 

Sega stopped making mostly great games about half way through the Genesis's life.

They still had some great games, but mostly the games were just good or mediocre (both in sales and quality)

This isn't the only reason for their exit of hardware, but it is a big part.

(Note: I owned a Genesis, Sega CD, and Dreamcast (which is one of my favorite consoles))
