very good points...

I think Russia or the new USSR (if Putin suceeds) may end up as the new market before China.

No USSR's lol. We've been there already... I was born in the USSR, by the way. Piracy is stong in both countries, really... Russia, however, is far far closer to becoming the new market.

Also, Medvedev.

I think Eastern Europe, as a whole, is poised for a lot of growth. It seems that movies, as a form of entertainment, has preceeded console growth. And guess what? Eastern Europe has been growing quite considerably as of late. There is a TON of awesome talent in Poland, Hungary, and CIS nations for new growth in terms of production. And consumption is also growing in those markets, it seems.

Did anyone see the most recent news about the emergence of Brazil as a new economic power due to it's ability to become the worlds largest exporter of food? That could bode very well for the Brazillian economy....And consoles have always been big there.

So I think the 4 critical emerging markets to look at, in order of importance, are:

  • China
  • CIS/Eastern Europe
  • India
  • Brazil

It will be neat if we can begin to get more solid information from those areas...Does anyone have any info as to why, or when, China could remove the ban on legal consoles? It seems odd that they make them, but can't use them.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
