Anyone remeber when everyone said WII was a fad

I am actually a hardcore gamer and personally not a fan of the WII as stated in other posts I bought one for my 7 year old girl and 5 year old son for christmas (they dont know obvsiouly since its tucked away). I think there is a market for it but its not for me.
