First off, read the whole thing before commenting. I don't care if it's long. Read it or you'll just be ignored. And PLEASE, if you disagree, give reasons why, not "OMG you're so totally wrong because I said so!!!!! My platform is so much superior than that RRoD/DelayStation 3!!! OMG!!!"

OK, we see PS3 owners and 360 owners fighting...every day. Well, why?

Because competition is good. No one complains about it in sports when rival teams bitch to each other, gamers are no different. It might sound rabid and stupid at times but no more so than any other big event.

In terms of games, they are getting (nearly) the same exact games. THE SAME EXACT GAMES. So many games are multiplatform and developers HAVE seen the potential in PS3/360 multiplatform games. Sure, there might be exclusives to each platform such as Gears of War or MGS, but those aren't many games. The majority of the games are multiplatform. I doubt we'll see many PS3 or 360 exclusives in the future - they are just WAY too similar and multiplatform PS3/360 games sell really well. Nearly every company has realized this so in terms of games, why fight? You're getting the same exact games, why do you care? Star Ocean 4 and Versus XIII may be exclusive...but like I said, more and more developers have realized PS3 and 360 multiplatform games are a lot better than exclusives. I mean why do you think Square Enix moved FF XIII to the 360? I'd expect the same to happen to Star Ocean 4 and Versus XIII. The only problem is whether these games will be timed exclusive or not. Still, you're getting the game. So many people have always said "Well, [X game] is worth the wait so who cares?" Actually try to mean it instead of using that as an excuse.

No. MultiPlat games will NEVER and I mean NNEEEVVVVEEEER be better then what can be doen as an exclusive. This is do to the fact MultiPlat games are "Gimped" because no matter what the developers say, they have to keep the other console in mind while working on one. You can't be working on a wii title and make the gameplay surround around motion controls and expect to still port it to 360? Same can be said for PS3 and 360. There differences are not as apparent but THEIY ARE THERE! and these differences can make a good game GREAT.Halo3,Mass Effect, MGS4, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, SSBB, Metroid Prime, GeOW, etc are VASTLY superior to what is available as multiplat right now, you cant get this kind of quality any other way.

Second off, graphics. PS3 and 360 owners LOOOOOOOOOVE to compare graphics. Of course, all of these "comparisons" are fanboyish. There hasn't been one game on ANY of the HD systems that challenges the graphics of the other. None. Zip. Nada. Zero. Heck, not one developer has said "Our PS3 game cannot be done on the Xbox 360 due to inferior graphical capabilities." or vice versa. Most people are always saying the PS3 is more powerful than the 360...but do you have any specs? These people have absolutely proof yet they've convinced themselves that their system is graphically superior...again, with no proof whatsoever.

There has been a few, these were all developers who worked exclusively on PS3 titles. Hideo Kojima said it, a very respectable developer of games(he didnt say graphically per say but he did fill the BD disc). It  IS possible for a game to use the full specs of a console you know. And when that happens it is impossible to port it due to that would be WAY to much work, this goes for both consoles actually. And me personally, I am not too tech savy but the developers of these games are. Many developers have stated the PS3's vast superiority in power and graphical CAPABILITIES. The only thing is the PS3 is a BITCH to develop for and requires huge amounts of time and money spent on it to make this kind of quality come to fruition at this current time. The absense of evidence is not the evidence of absense.

Online...eh...duke it out. Their online are pretty different but many games have gone to both XBL and PSN. Thankfully, not many people argue over the games. Instead, they argue over which one is superior. People argue that MS's you have to pay and PSN's free...but that seems to be the only difference. I haven't seen the online of any hinder any multiplatform games. Instead, people just argue that MS's you have to pay and PSN is free. Eh...whatever. This I'll let go. I made sure not to miss this though.

Another thing...360 will *SOMEHOW* gimp the PS3 version of the multiplatform games. How, might I ask? Like I said above, the graphical capabilities are similar or exactly the same. They can both do 1080p. How will the 360 somehow gimp the PS3 version? Besides the 360 using DVD-9 discs and the PS3 using Blu-ray...what's the difference exactly? Lost Odyssey uses 4 discs yet I've seen no one complain about it. That's...36 GBs. I highly doubt many PS3 games will use the total 50 GB discs so 3-4 discs won't matter. I mean it only takes...10 seconds to switch a disc. Wow, that was so long. Yet, I've seen people say the PS3 version will have to be gimped and shortened due to the 360 using less space in their discs. Listen guys...discs will not gimp a game. As I said, Lost Odyssey used 4 yet no one complained and nothing was "gimped" for that game. It never went to the PS3, but the developers haven't said they've cut out anything due to disc limitations. They aren't going to gimp the PS3 version because of that. I mean I've seen this argument used so many times for FF XIII...yet people don't realize that the PS3 version of FF XIII will be made first so obviously no gimps, THEN the 360 version.

Have you not heard of the very poor ports of games from 360 to PS3? OrangeBox, FEAR,MADDEN ?!? PS3 owners have a right to not want gimped trash from another system. These are all because of them being multiplatform. Multiplatform games HAVE to be started on one or the other. These all started on the 360 version. This has proven to lead to fairly poor ports for PS3. In FFXIII case, it started on PS3 first. But what is not apparent to most is that now that the game creators must keep the 360 in mind as they put final touches on the game, they cant add everything they wanted to. No offense, but people like you seem to be oblivious to the REALITY that when a game is multiplatform it is NOT at full POTENTIAL. I personally want a game to be THE BEST THAT IT CAN BE! I dont give a flying f*ck about how much money they make! There are plenty of ways to recoup money loss without LYING to customers about it's exclusivity, and making it Multi.

Last thing. Sales. Who cares? Wow, [X game] on one platform outsold the same game on [Y platform]!! Big deal. You're still getting the same games and they're not going to be gimped (it seems less and less developers are gimping PS3 versions of the games that were on the 360 first such as Lost Planet or The Orange Box which is a plus. Used to be the problem before, but not anymore.) so basically the sales are nothing but fanboy fuel. The fanboys use it as fuel. They say their system's game outsold the same game on the other system. They also use it for HW. OK guys, it happened, big deal. You're getting the SAME EXACT things...who cares?

This is what competition is all about. The sales just show who is currently winning. Who ever is on the losing side is the one that needs to perfect their game strategy is all.

There might be an inevitable shitstorm that might happen due to this thread...but I had to try, right? :P Sure, I don't own a PS3 or 360, but seeing people argue over some stupid reasons every day (which are the same exact arguments...every day) is getting extremely tiring. EXTREMELY tiring. I know...it won't stop...but I can at least convince some people that they're acting pretty stupid.

There it is right there. You do not know what it is like to have to defend your purchase from a hounding fanbase of the opposition. You dont want to look dumb, u must defend it.
