Realizing that the PS2s version of Madden 08 had more sales than the wii version, there was a higher drop on the ps2 than the Wii gained. So obviously, it is possible to conclude that PS2 owners are going next gen, resulting in a 30% increase in sales for wii, 10% increase in sales for PS3, 30% drop for PS2, and 0% increase for 360. First week... 360>PS3>Wii(due to 30% increase)>PS2>PSP>DS Total 360>Wii(remember, long legs. Acceleration is better than speed)>PS3>PS2>PSP>DS Overall, the PS2 version will drop the most from the previous version. |
ioi said that about day 1 sales, I assume?
If that holds for rest of the week, that means launch week sales will be ~250,000 for PS3 and ~100,000 for wii. The wii numbers are lower than I would expect, considering the improvements made to All-Play.... nevertheless as I and most have said the wii doesn't need a big front end like the other consoles do, its legs will come through to carry sales.
edit: wait a tick... when you refer to the percentages from ioi are you talking about console sales or Madden sales? If the PS2 lost 30% of its Madden sales it would still be above the PS3 and Wii in launch week sales at ~300,000+
