@OP: Even in your scenario of vXIII never coming to the 360 (which remains to be seen) there's a fatal flaw in your argument.
You're assuming that the people who buy a 360 for FFXIII would have bought a PS3 for it if it didn't come out on the 360. Now, assuming vXIII remains PS3-exclusive, you then say that they would buy a PS3 for that.
Maybe I'm missing something here, but in this scenario, what would 'backfire' on Microsoft if they get some sales, even if Sony does, too?
Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
