Both my 60GB PS3 and My Xenon 360 have never choked, despite their warm nature. Then again, I give them room to breathe. I've seen a lot of X360 (and PS3) owners who don't treat their consoles with the respect (and breathing room) they deserve.  A lot of these folks (gamer pals of mine) have said they've had one, or more, RRoDs, and one even had his PS3 cave in (and yep, he was Folding for something like 72 hours straight -- if there's one app that uses 100% of the Cell, its Folding@Home... I wouldn't be surprised if the heat output was just a bit too much to keep running constantly on 90nm Cells).

I also never fold@home for more than 8 hours at a time, and I never have all-nite sessions of Halo 3. I know where the RRoD monster lives.

I've always wondered if the very shape/form of the X360 somehow gives it a "don't worry about me, I won't overheat" appearance, and users merely treat it with less care than their PS3.

The Cell has been shrunk to 65nm for a while now... its 65nm in the 40GB model, yeah?  Anyone know about the GPU?  Is the new 80GB going to have less power requirements/heat than any of the older PS3 models?

The being said, my Wii actually gets hot, and it has plenty of room as well.  I thought it only used 18W, even during intensive gaming?
