I've processed over 440 Folding data units without any problems. Folding has made my console reset two or three times when quitting the program, but as for "breaking" it? Not based on my extensive personal experience. From a design standpoint, there aren't any critical flaws in the hardware engineering. From a QC standpoint, the PS3 is still well under what is considered the average acceptable rate of failure for consumer electronics. For all those who've had problems; somone has to end up with the bottom 1%. It's unfortunate, but it happens.

I suspect with two broken PS3's I've suffered more than most! But hopefully I'm not at the bottom of the pile - someone out there must have had 3 or 4 fail on them surely!
BTW agree on Folding Home. I ended up stopping more due to cost and my wife not liking PS3 running all the time but I doubt that was the problem as I indicated in my response - kids jumping madly around and bumping it seems much more likely.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
