Amazon sales really don't mean much. In fact sales from no single retailer mean very much, because all retailers tend to slant towards particular market demographics. Best thing to do is wait for real estimates to come in.

Since Onimusha's thread was locked, and I thought I had a rather good post, I'm going to repost it here. Here's a look at the sales pattern of Madden '08 on the 360 and Wii platforms.

360:

Overall sales: 2.32 million

1st week: 711k

% of overall sales in 1st week: 30.6%

Wii:

1st week: 74k

% of overall sales in 1st week: 9.5%

As you can see, Madden '08 for 360 sold almost a third of all sales in the first week, while Wii sold only a tenth of all sales in the first week. If the Wii version of Madden '09 sells only a third as much as the 360 version, it has a chance to outsell it in the long run. This should be interesting to watch.
