Darc Requiem said: Louie said: Well the 360 is for hardcore gamers. And hardcore gamers buy Halo and Gears of War, AND Mass Effect, AND... you know what I mean. It´s Microsofts biggest sucess and their biggest problem that they can just get the hardcore crowd... Well the 360 isn't cheap. The PS3's price has tended to take peoples eyes off the fact that the 360 is $400. Not only that its been out for over a year and it has not had a price drop. There are gamers out there, they are the majority, that won't spend over $200 for a system. The 360 and PS3 are outside of the impulse buying range of most consumers. It doesn't matter how many games either system receives for this segment of the population. They won't cross that $200 barrier. Before anyone asks about the Wii, I think the inclusion of Wii Sports helps sell the Wii to this part of the market. I think the consumer sees that Wii games cost $50 and that they are getting a "$50 value" out of the Wii Sports pack in.
Good Point Darc cause I know personal ten people who bought a Wii just cause it was cheap, no other reason besides that, I was telling them about it a then BAM (remember the old Batman) they had one just cause they bumped into it and it's wasn't that expensive. Think about people would you be more upset about wasting 250, 400 or 600 dollars?(Nobody likes to waste money)
