MS, no. Pachter, sort of.
MS wants to compare their complete 31 month ltd sw sales... but that doesn't do much for third parties to look at to see where they should put their next game.
Pachter has been wishy washy, he says one thing to one person and something else to someone else. I'm sure you can research and find Pachter saying anything you want him to say.
Nintendo is also wrong, because they are comparing first 19 months. Because of Y2Y growth, they should measure the same 19 month period.
Which is what NPD did. 13+ compared to 16+ just US. WW Wii would be in the "lead". Just US + EU or JPN and Wii is in the lead.
US by itself for the last 19 months, shows 360 3rd party software edging out Wii by 3 million. Next year Wii will blow this away. (Probably even 2008 12 month period will go to Wii)
Whatever. Each console has its market, and each third party could make games for either one.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
