@the people in this thread and other who say impossible: Sony doesn't own the rights to any Final Fantasy game. They may have a stake in Square or vice versa I don't know. But it is obviously not a controlling one. For example: Nintendo only owned a small portion of Monolith, then bought them out. Monolith still made games for Sony consoles. See it's simple. I hate morons.
@ckmlb: Yes, I like some ports, and would look forward to remakes or ports of the games I mentioned. I am looking forward to FFIV on DS, for instance.
@fuzzmosis: yes.
@Redspear and Fazz: Final Fantasy VII is why PS1 took off. N64 was is in the lead at first.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
