SE just wants to make everything even this time right?

Wrong! This was prooven to be invalid once FFXIII went multiplat. There is nothing "EVEN" about them now.

  • Infinite Undiscovery:360 Exclusive
  • The Last Remnant:Timed 360 Exclusive(originally promised as simaltaneous release)
  • Star Ocean 4(originally put as Sony exclusive with no sign of defection, then all of a sudden becomes exclusive to 360?)
  • FFXIII multiplat (wtf)
  • FF versus XIII: PS3 Exclusive
  • So if full exclusives are one point and timed ones are .5 that puts us at....
  • 360:2.5 PS3:1.5
  • Not to mention the 360 would already be getting Tales games and others. There was no need to give 360 yet ANOTHER game to add to their arsenal to make things "EVEN".

If they wanted to be fair why did they not hold Last Remnant's release as they did FFXIII(a much bigger franchise which ppl have been waiting for for a looooooooooong time). Or for that matter, Why is yet another franchise synonomous with playstation,SO4, 360 exclusive? Why would Square choose a system that has an abismal fanbase for RPGs for some of there new titles(no JRPG on 360 has sold more than a mil yet)?

Fishie! Fishie!

I tried to take you seriousl;y, but you keep resorting to using the term "fair." Fair is a term used to explain life to children. Fair is a word that has no meaning. It is the most worthless of all words. If it fair to have one person buy a Jaguar while another starves to death? Is it fair to take money from the person buying the Jaguar to feed the starving person? You can make an arguement for any answer to those questions. Fair is meaningless and should never be used in a real discussion.

Ok "Fair" and "Even" were not my personal discriptions of what SE is doing. This is how SE described their current marketing plan. Dont get flip with me for restating what they have already said they were trying to do. SE said they did not want their to be a overwhelming market leader this time around.

That said your examples are not anywhere near relevant. The point of games is simply to make a good return on the investment. Maintaining a good business relationship with the console manufacturers is simply one part of that equation. FFXIII was budgeted assuming the PS3 would have the same success as the PS2 did. 20-30 million dollars in it is extremely clear that simply will never be the case. I doubt this move has even seriously damaged the business relationship of the two companies. The project could have been scrapped, or taken off the platform all together a long time ago. Making it multiplatform is a resonable compromise that will leave both companies very happy in the end.

My examples, very relevent, as these are all games that are being made timed/full exclusive to the 360. If we go by the whole "SE went MultiPlat to MAKE MORE MONEY" becuz MultiPlat "WIDENS THE USERBASE FOR A GAME" then why are all these games not multiplat as well. 360 is ONLY 4-5 MILL AHEAD. That has never been enough to make a decision like that. Shit, the 5 mill they have over PS3 WOULD CLOSE THE SECOND FFXIII CAME OUT!. Did you read my post at all? serious qeustion?

Edit: You also seem to be under the mistaken impression that every person who will buy the game would have bought a PS3 for it. Thats just not the way the general consumer works unfrotunately. Let me put it another way and maybe it will make sense to you. Would you pay $460 for a game? Would you pay $60 for a game? A metric tonne of people will say yes to the second one, and no to the first.

Uh, Yes?!? Before you got a 360 or wii, did you not select a game that would make you want it? or did you just buy them becuz they are shiny? You see as a Gamestop Employee I see 'GAMERS" all the time and I get a general idea of what they are looking for. Price means nothing if it is the only alternative. Shoot, Id rather not pay 15000 for a car but I have no choice cuz thats how much it cost to get the one I like. See where I am going with this?

Sry if I sound a bit hostile but your post is a tad irritating. I dont think you actually read it at all and just skimed as many tend to do when I type loooooooooooooooooooooooong OPs. Sry bout that.
