It's installed base. So like the number of systems (ie: PS2's) actually plugged in and "installed". Rather than thrown out or sitting as used systems in Gamestops.
And what's surprising is they've gone from "We're awesome and gonna sell 150 million and beat everyone's ass!" to "I think we'll be able to catch up to the Wii and tie them".
