Edit: considering the official price point in america is $349 in the US compared to £199 in UK, it's also nice to see Microsoft aren't screwing the UK with the exchange rate (it's practically the norm over here to expect $1 = £1 from most companies)

If you consider that Europe recently had a £50/50Euro price reduction and the US hasn't, I dunno. Unless MS worked out that can afford it due to the weak dollar at the moment and the price reduction was just more along the lines of a price equaling.

PS, who does $1 = £1? Yes we get screwed byt never that bad. Most are still like it was 5 or 6 years ago when it was £1=$1.5

 

Having just returned from a shopping trip in the US I'm inclined to say it is as bad as $1 = £1 for many items.  For clothing I'd say the exchange rate is probably even worse than that.
