For the umpteenth time:

The PS3 DOES NOT use 380 Watts. It never did.
(it was first measured around 200 watts)

It has a power supply rated for 380 watts. This, however, tells nothing about the energy it actually uses. It's a common engineering practise to design powersupplies to be a lot bigger than what is needed because a) you could get an unpredicted peak and b) powersupplies tend to lose capacity over time.

This is easilly verified, the Xbox 360 uses something like 160 watts but it's powersupply is rated for over 250 (IIRC). Likewise, if you check the Wii you'll find that it's powersupply rated above what it actually uses as well.

Think of it like an engine in a car - just because it can deliver 400 HP that doesn't mean it actually delivers 400 HP when you're idling!
