That 729Mhz you name right there is an assumption made by some people based on various things. Nintendo has never stated anything about the real specs of the Wii... I guess we all know that the Wii isn't a powerhouse, but there simply isn't data to prove that it is somewhat around 700Mhz...

A lot of the specs can just be decoded by reading codes on the components.

For example the IBM CPU reads:

"(IBM logo)" "BROADWAY" "39X6735" "IBM9316" "BWYC-72914" "06340706V 14"  All the numbers in the sequence have meaning, just like a VIN on a car (except the last 6?).

Most of the more detailed numbers were leaked by devs, which were then quietly confirmed by other devs.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
