In this screenshot they look similar but I suspect they are highly modified to look similar... Do you realize people put down games like FEAR and Orange box for ps3 because they have framerat issues? I doubt Wii could "fool" anyone with graphics, especially the COD fanbase... With that said, if they play the game to wii's strenghts (controls) it could turn out to be a better experience overall. But after the COD4 success on ps360, I kind of doubt they are putting too much effort in to the Wii version of this game. |
One thing to consider is how the processing power of the Wii matches up to the processing requirements of displaying an image at 480p ... In terms of polygonal and texture processing the Gamecube's peak performance was fairly close to the maximum that could be displayed when running at 30fps. We all know that the Wii is more powerful than the Gamecube which means that at (at least) 30fps you shouldn't be able to see the difference between the polygonal detail and texture detail of a Wii and XBox 360/PS3 game when they're both being displayed at 480p.
Shader processing power is another story, and the HD consoles should be able to create lighting and material effects which are far above what the Wii is able to do ... At the same time though if a game is running at 60fps at 720p (or higher) on the HD consoles they're probably not producing lighting or shading effects that can not be emulated (in some fashion) on the Wii.
