"The opening sequence serves as a tutorial to familiarize you with the controls. The nunchuck's analog stick handles your movement, Z blocks, and C dodges. Over on the remote, A jumps, B activates your psychic spore powers, and the D-pad controls the camera. Combat is all waggle, all the time. This has us a little worried, as it's another example of seemingly unnecessary waggle that could have been handled with a button press."

The bolded struck me as an incredibly stupid comment, considering he just told us that every single other button which might have been used has been mapped to another function.

Seriously, what part of swinging to hit stuff is hard to comprehend?

If they don't front, the other gaming "journalists" will laugh at them. Waggle is a meme with these guys, and they hold onto them with all the determination and intelligence of a bulldog.

I really thought the motion for Zelda made it better.  It was cool, when I got into the game I would be swinging it like a real sword and when I wanted to relax I would just give it a little thoughtless nudge.

19 months later, I still enjoy that part of Twilight Princess.

You're 100% right about journalists needing to stay in the loop... they are the worst snobcore-haters.  That is why they are totally out of touch with the tastes of mainstream and hardcore gamers.

They think  or feed the idea that Wii is mostly Seniors and under 12.  But it's just not true.   The largest demographics of Wii owners is the same as PS2.  13-30.

Yeah, we really are buying Guitar Hero and Wii Fit, but we're also buying Smash Bros., Sonic and Mario... just like every other generation... The only difference is how heavliy this generation has skewed the "M for Mature" and "E for everyone" to separate consoles.

It's not Nintendo's fault (arguable) or the gamers' fault that there has been so much crappy shovel ware.  It's third Party Publisher's fault for not doing the research (going on to the forums in 2005-6) and seeing how much excitement there was for the Revolution/Wii.

(/fanboy rant.)

Mushroom wars looks like fun.  They speak so glowingly of the game and gameplay and then they add that comment...

aaaargh. I can't do this right now...

(/fanboy rant.  Really.)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
