It's interesting to see how 3rd party titles gained a little steam in the second full year the DS was on the market, but they really exploded in the third year.
Gives one hope for what 3rd party support might be like for the Wii in 2009. I know, I know... Wii 3rd party support starts in 2008... no E3 2008... no 2009... etc.
