Looks like dib8erman is nearly the only one to get the whole idea. So let's put it out again, what the friendcode is:
Friendcode is auto-generated ID for your game/console, which makes possible you to go gaming online without doing anything. It takes about 2 seconds to generate a friendcode and you may not even notice having one. In comparision to competition, you're supposed to fill a registration and choose a unique username. All the time it took to generate an ID, is away from the use you intended.
If M$ would use friendcodes, they'd have accounts for everyone that ever went online with 360. No registration, or anything similar, just a silver account that advertises "upgrade to gold, only XXX a month".
So, how many of you are messenger or equivalent users? Does it suck to enter a persons e-mail address?
@Dodece: No, i'm not a troll, i'm very serious. What people don't seem (want?) to see, is that changing a gamertag to a friendcode, would only change the way you create an online account; to an easier way.
@sinha: Yes, it's a lot easier. Before i got my first mobile phone, i could remember 100+ phonenumbers with ease, but names and faces are a problem to me.
