Also, multiplatform titles like Prince of Persia (is it even coming to the Wii?), Call of Duty: World at War, and Tomb Raider Underworld are going to be much better on the 360 than they are going to be on the Wii. The Sony Playstation 3 also has quite a few games that are going to be vastly superior to anything on the Wii this holiday season. They include Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and Valkyria Chronicles. |
If you're talking about sales Gears of War 2 will be one of several huge titles this Christmas (Animal Crossing Wii has the potential to devistate it though) and Fallout 3 will probably not sell nearly as well as you expect; if you're talking critical acclaim, Gears of War 2 will probably do well but I wouldn't count on (or count out) any other titles.
As for the highlighted point, the majority of gamers may not care what YOU think is a high quality game but don't dismiss their game purchases by saying that these people are idiots. While cinematic single player experiences, or strong online-multiplayer, may be valued assets in your mind many gamers are currently (and always have) bought games based on how much fun they're to play in a social situation; games like Halo, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart built their popularity based on how much fun they are in local multiplayer. There is also the fact that more complicated games (with large storylines) are not necessarily better than simple games, for example Metal Gear Solid is not necessarily a better game the Checkers, so you shouldn't make the assumption that your preferences are universal or look down at people for having a different preference.
