Human beings will convince themselves of anything as long as it fulfills their desires and ambitions, regardless of how true it is. We call this drive to believe against evidence "faith". Unfortunately for those who rely on it, "faith" always succumbs to "reality". I have nothing against faith, so long as it's used responsibly. But when people are going against reality over something as trivial as a video game console? Particularly when the individual in question is not even counting on this video game console for their survival in some crucial way? That's when I start to question just how much of a grasp of reality an individual has...

The short of it is that there will always be those who argue against reality simply because doing so somehow fulfills their own desires better than accepting reality does. And it's quite sad when it comes about over unimportant things, but what can you do?
