Color doesnt matter, what matters is does a DS/Ds lite fit better in your hands.
I recommend a Lite with the nerf case on it (sucks for Guitar Hero though, you have to take the nerf case of)
I dont think there will be a DS redesign anytime soon, but then again, I was wrong back when Lite was released
As for RPG's. There are plenty, but I like the remakes more than the orinigals...
I have to say though, no matter what style of gamer you are, a DS will go a very long way, be it a 10 minute bus ride or a 4 hour flight, not to mention games for everyone
