| Gearbox said: The ps3 will be around for around 10 years. So far they have sold almost 15 million units each year the total sales will rise at least 10 more million. 10 X 8 + 15 = 95 million. The wii will most likly only last 5 years. each year selling around 20 mill. 3 x 20 + 30 = 90. Of course this will be a very close race by the end of it and the numbers variet a couple of million. Of couse this doesn't inculde all the unknown variables such as massive hits, scandles etc etc.

So why would the PS3 be able to do what the PS2 could not, after being a broken shell of a console compared to the PS2 (sales-wise)?
The PS2 has had a more successful "10 year" life cycle than the PS3 will ever have, and as you can see it is really struggling in its 8th year to garner sales, as they've dropped significantly from last year. And its 9th and 10th years will be dysmal even if Sony drops the price.
