What is wrong with gamertags, they are great, and friend codes are rubbish, they just have no advantage whatsoever, apart from you can have your own name. It is like in the PS2 era where you could have your own nickname for every game in the profile that you make on that game, but it is so much better if you just have a unified profile for everything, that works so well with the achievements. Avatars and home will create things similar to wiis, but in terms of online multiplayer, gamertags are great, how would the friend code system work with call of duty, would everyone have to have their nickname? But then what if people have the same name, and that is what gamertags achieve, they are oh so much better
