It doesn't matter what I want. I'll get the game when I need it. The point is you claiming the game will not sell well at full price, to people other than us, and you have given no proof.

What would you like him to prove exactly?

That re-released games usually sell fewer units than their counterparts?

That a lower price generates more sales?

I think it's perfectly logical to say that a game that has been on the market for some time being re-released at full price (if on a different platform) is likely to sell fewer copies than it would without those two facets.

A re-release is the same game on the same system. This is a port.

And it doesn't have to outsell the 360 version. It just has to turn a profit.

And since the game has to remake most of the assets, unlike RE4 Wii, they can't exactly sell it at a bargain price.

I think that's where risk assessment and cost/benefit analysis should kick in.  I assume Capcom has a pretty fair idea what they're doing (if they didn't smell profit, they wouldn't do it after all), but I think it's a fair point to say that it's unlikely to see this version outsell its counterparts (especially at full price).

I believe that was DMJ's point.

No, he was claiming the game is sure to sell at bargain price, because it's a port of an older game, forgetting that the bargain price ports on the Wii are from less powerful systems, not more.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
