Its a very dangerous thing to set a precedent for near-immediate price cuts. It would discourage people from buying consoles so early in the future.

And it WOULD piss off early adopters. Doesn't anybody remember when MS cut the XBox's price in Europe 5 or 6 weeks after launch, due to slow sales and PS2 price drops? They gave away games and accessories to the early adopters to dodge bad press.

Of course, this doesn't change the fact that PS3 needs a price cut in Europe...
