I don't know if it will completely satisfy every "core" gamer, since there are a lot of them that just hate the Wii because they saddled up with a PS3 or 360 early and they won't be cought dead "switching sides" (sad way to think but whatever). But I consider myself a core gamer as I enjoy pretty much ANY game and have played and beaten games from just about every genre with the exception of possibly some of the stranger Japanese genres.
So yeah, if you have an open mind to the Wii and are willing to give it a shot, I think there is going to be a library there for you. But like I said in my post above I don't think the Wii is there yet, but I do think it is closer than the PS3.
