"In charge?" You phrase it as if the Democratic Party has taken ultimate control over congress. Perhaps they have the majority of the representatives, but they aren't exactly "in charge." And besides, why do you think Congress has such a low approval rating? It's certainly not the fault of the Democrats. And I guess I'd have to live in a free country to have a differing opinion from you. As for your second paragraph, it speaks for itself. |
Have you been keeping up with the news lately? On Friday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi decided that amidst the debate for offshore drilling and gas prices she'd rather shut down Congress, including all lights and cameras, and go on their annual 5-week vacation then listen to the Republican side of the debate and do something to alleviate high gas prices... God forbid they actually get something DONE for once!
Circa November 2006... “The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history,” Pelosi said.
Right, thats why she she turned off all the lights and cameras so nobody could hear the Republican side of the debate.
And i agree with you that the Republicans are no saints either... 6 years in control and they didn't do jack squat either, but now the shoe is on the other foot, and after sweeping elections in '06 the Democrats have failed to deliver on almost everything they promised... for example no troop withdrawl from Iraq yet (there was a surge instead, which worked BTW).

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
