I don't think anyone expected Wii to come out of the storm gates quite like it has, with perhaps exception to Malstrom.

But given the current climate of things, especially in the general media, I don't see Wii slowing down for at least another year.

Mainly due to the fact that Nintendo is unleashing its own salvo this year. And if you care to be kind and look forward to the first six months of next year, the best of the best from Nintendo will be out all within a year and a half time span. This alone will drive more general gamer sales, beyond the new markets Nintendo is tapping into.

This Christmas Wii will have lots of water cooler talk due to WiiFit, even beyond the buzz the Wii creates for itself as it is. I think this Christmas the Wii will be like Cabbage Patch dolls in the 80's. Mark my words we will see some story on some local news about parents getting into a scuffle due to them wanting to get their hands on a Wii. We might even see some new N64-esque kids.

Not to mention on average it takes only about a year to develop Wii game. So beyond Nintendo's goods, we will see the onslaught of third party developers unleashing their own works near the end of next year, thus keeping sales solid for Xmas 08'.
