I think this is just a typical case of one person allowing their desires to colour their perceptions.
Is it really a sign of weakness that Nintendo doesn't have an endless barrage of Wii peripherals or that they're already working on their next console? I guarantee that Sony is also working on their next console, even with their "10 year plan."
