You can't be much more of a long term failure 6.5 years into your plan, than the Xbox brand is. They were both great game machines, but horrible business failures. I have said that their is a strong possibility of them pulling out of this trouble, however, if they don't by the end of '08 why would they continue?

MS would have failed to penetrate the market losing billions of dollars in two generations. They have never had a positive sales year. What would be the point of MS gain market share if that market share doesn't yield a profit?

@goddbless: I said a decline since the holidays, not a drop after the holidays. Meaning that sales have gone down each month, and almost every week.

I am not "against" Xbox. I am not "against" Sony. They are both failures this gen so far. We a almost a year in, the holidays are coming. I hope I am wrong. I like the competition. If both brands make it through, and they try to have a regular 5 year life cycle, than it is confirmed that one company will try to have another "money fight". This would be really bad for gaming and would probably put both of them out of (gaming) business. Let's hope for an extended life cycle.

(edit: what I would like to see is my Sig being waaaay off.  I hope Nintendo can get production up and sell 18 million, I hope PS3's new games raise interest and sells 8-9 million, I hope 360 can hit 15-18 million with the strength of the Halo brand and all those other awesome games.)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
