Did anyone really think they'd dumb down the PS3 version? o-o

I'm willing to bet FF XIII will take up 3-4 discs on the 360...which isn't a whole lot for a game like FF XIII. It's not like this is the first time a FF took 3-4 discs. Plus games like LO were 3 discs...don't see what the problem would be if FF XIII on the 360 was the same.

Lost Odyssey was 4 discs.  The big issue with splitting discs is having to copy the overworld / town / dungeon data to every single disc.  In LO, much of the world map was blocked off in the 2nd and 3rd disc.

SE could get around this problem if they require the HDD on the 360 version for all the base data and run the cinematics off the disc.  Right now, MS requires that all games are able to directly run off the disc.  However, I'm sure SE can convince them to waive that requirement just because they are getting this game now.  Even if Core/Arcade owners have to get an HDD, that's still cheaper than getting a PS3.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
