I actually did. Weirdly enough throughout the whole level you always had a very limited set of simple Geometry nearby. Some more in the mid distance covered by lots of smoke and these very far off buildings.
It looks amazing but its very similar to the good old parallax scrolling of old 2D games. It looks like much more than there actually is. If your screen is totally filled by nearby Geometry like in the third screenshot I provided it looks far less amazing. And yes even this looks pretty nice. But not better than Uncharted or Killzone2.

The third screen you posted is multiplayer, which looks considerably worse than the single player game.

And the nearby geometry is hardly simple. I just think that you cant identify detail created by polygons from detail created by normal mapping.
