I think the sales will slide from here on out. People who were waiting for a price cut got their PS3 already especially after being told that the price cut was for a limited number of consoles only. Now that they have their consoles the sales will start to dip until they get back to their normal levels and it will stay that way until the PS3 finally puts a variety of unique big names on the shelves. Cross platform games will always favor the 360 here in the US, and similarly they will favor the PS3 in Japan.

It looks like we are going to have a polarization of regions this generation between the PS3 and XBox. I dont see the 360 going away here in the US (nor any other english speaking country) and if they release a reliable version of the 360 it will probably bury the PS3 to GC levels. Obviously the 360 is a dead trout in Japan so the PS3 will still be a success there. This is of course the absolute worst thing that can happen to us gamers if it did happen but I do believe that the ball is in MS's hands right now. If MS wants Japan & had half a brain then they need to turn everyone with a Windows PC there into a 360 customer like no one but MS & their virtual Monopoly can do. Sure you will have some headaches with hardware but it gives instant marketshare and at a minimal cost compared to making consoles for a loss. Software is much cheaper than hardware and they are already have half of India & Africa working for them on tech support anyway.
