| WiiGirl76 said: Biggest of 3rd party, but to say a game which is absolutely great?... not really from what I experience so far... GFX are not too good, and the game feels too short. On Amazon Japan the people complain about the game being too short, most people finished it within a 15 hours. One gamer finished the game within 10 hours and calculated that it cost him 600 yen per hour as he paid 6000 yen for it, which is about 36 Euro and 43USD! I paid 55USD for it! Though I doubt they've finished every area in the game with a S rank... Game is more meant for casuals then for hardcore gamers. So die hard Dragon Quest / RPG fans wouldn't be very much excited about it. |
I'm certainly not saying I disagree with your assesment of the game as I haven't played one since it was called Dragon Warrior on the NES in the USA, but 15 hours? That's not that much shorter than people could do RE4, and people still liked it. I guess as also discussed, it can come down to replay value, but I don't consider that to be too horribly short of a time. As a note, I do play some long RPGs as well, but I can still appreciate shorter games.
As for the the Wii becoming the best selling system, both sides do have good arguements. I'd have to go with hoping it'll reach higher than the PS2 as the new markets emerge. You can take that as any mix of China, India, population growth, casuals, or any other market you'd like to think of expanding.
