well looking at the past Mario Party games the N64 ones sold about 200-250k on week 1, and the first gamecube one sold 200k and the future ones have gone down since. You could say that the series has lost popularity, but I would say that it is just because the gamecube did pretty badly in Japan. There are some strange things with the sales in Mario Party, having huge legs and selling at high numbers like 100k in weeks like 10 and 11 (sometimes bigger than week 1 sales). This is a tough one to predict.
