And you are completely ignoring that Reggie and Cammie were NOT the only Nintendo execs making statements about E3 and Nintendo. Miyamoto and Iwata did state that Nintendo is working on core games, they just don't feel they have to announce them all at E3. Futhermore, Iwata did acknowledge that E3 conference gave the wrong idea, which means Nintendo doesn't feel that way, or else they wouldn't have felt the need to apologize. http://kotaku.com/5027984/iwata-so-very-very-sorry-for-nintendos-e3-presser |
Ok you don't seem to get it sir. People aren't pissed because they didn't announce games at E3. People are pissed because Nintendo isn't offering us much this Fall. The lineup is being held up mainly by third party titles, and truthfully, Wii 3rd party support isn't exactly the shining beacon DS 3rd party support is for Nintendo to let them run the Wii's fall schedule. Sony and Microsoft have multiple times over better third party support, and STILL they rely on their own published titles to carry the holidays. Miyamoto can announce games till he's blue in the face, but how soon do you really expect any of those three "announcements"? They're not coming this Fall, and personally I only expect Pikmin by Fall 2009.
Do you remember on these boards before E3, people would create threads saying Wii has no Fall lineup? What did everyone tell those people? "Wait until E3. The games will come." E3 is over and done with, and not a whole lot got announced for this Fall, and nothing else probably will. So those people actually were right, in their trollish ways. Nintendo actually did not have a strong Fall lineup planned. THAT is what's pissing people off. Where are the games? I have $50 put aside for Wario Land Shake It, and nothing else.
Why doesn't Nintendo have a strong Fall lineup though? They have so many teams and don't have much of anything coming out for both platforms. It's purely mismanagement if Nintendo can;t secure a strong fall lineup for at least one of it's platforms. If this were Sony or Microsoft that didn't bring their big guns come XMas shopping season, we'd see the same bitching and moaning towards them. Sony is bringing Resistance 2, Little Big Planet and SOCOM to march. Microsoft is bringing Gears of War 2, Fable 2, and Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts to march. Nintendo is bringing Animal Crossing, Wario Land and Captain Rainbow? Huh? SHOULD I be happy?
