Look at history. The PS3 has no chance of taking 2nd place in America, and a two week drop in sales will not effect the outcome AT ALL.
Take a look at the 2nd place consoles for the last 2 generations:
Nintendo 64---
America: 2nd place
PAL: 2nd place
Japan: 3rd place
Xbox---
America: 2nd place
PAL: 2nd place
Japan: 3rd place
The PS3 is following the same trend, except this time it will be last in America instead of Japan like the previous 2 second place consoles.
If you're talking about worldwide, it will have little effect. Sony will ship huge amounts of PS3s and PSPs for the holiday season, and that's the most important time of the year. A couple weeks of supply problems won't change a thing.
