Takeshi Obata is one of my top favorite manga artists. He was the brilliance behind the artwork of Hikaru no Go.
Some of the concept art that is his is recognizable, but his influence did not seem to survive the translation into 3D from what I can see.... that can't be good 0.o
If you're going to base a controversial design decision on this kind of move, you should at least be sure you've kept the spirit of the artwork intact. The only thing this would seem to do is piss off both Obata fans and Castlevania fans.
