Benq and Lite-on = same company.
Benq just exists now as a brand name and has for a while. These new drives are still made by Lite-on but branded as Lite-on.
They contain a new type of flash rom which is physically inaccessable and currently unflashable...it looks like there's some specific new tech to combat flashing of the firmware on the drives.
Many experience people believe that these drives will NEVER be flashable.
