Namco Bandai (an actual developer) and Lazard (a market analyst) put the number of copies between 500,000-600,000 for the average PS3 game, but Heavenly Sword may be higher than that, as its development costs were quite high, I understand. 

plus ninja gaiden was a port.. all they had to do was enhance the graphics... they didnt have to build it from the ground up..
