I think everyone would agree that MS needs to address their first party situation, and the quick fix would be through aquisitions. The fact that they can no longer buy third party exclusivity and need to rely on gimmicks such as "exclusive DLC" is a problem for their overall library.
MS/Sony/Nintendo will never be able to buy a Take Two or EA. These companies have diversified their revenue streams across multiple platforms. The price multiple it would take to secure a purchase would make it cost prohibitive to convert one of these companies to first party.
