Maybe the 360 is more stocked at retailers than the PS3 in the various regions. This seems to be the case at local dealers for my country.

In any case it's nice to see the PS3 (considering entry pricing) and PS2 (considering market saturation) both outsold the 360 to retail for this period yet again. The PS2 outsold the 360 by many millions of units during Sony's last two fiscal years (about 28 sold to retail in total, almost double). The PS3 also outsold the 360 by more than 1.5 million units for 2007. For the first quarter of 2008 the PS3 also outsold the 360 more than 1 million units to retail.

Combine this with Wii sales the 360 already lost an amazing amount of market share within a short timespan. Like I stated before I think this year will be the final good sales year for the 360. Nearly all major XBox games already received 360 sequels (only the multiplatform Starwars and Fable 2 remaining). Microsoft failed to really capitalize on its entry pricing advantage compared to the PS3, as well as with regard to its 1 year or considerably more headstart for the various markets.

With games truly eyecatching games like God of War 3, Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 coming out soon, as well as Playstation Home and greatly improving Blu-Ray penetration I think the 360's long term outlook looks pretty bleak as expected.

Really? do you really think retailers would order more 360's in those months then the PS3's just for fun? Think about it for a second, its not the holidays where retailers are expecting an increase in sales. Retailers are just ordering consoles at the rate they sell. Meaning the 360 has been outselling the PS3 in "Others" which is...  quite a shock...

Aren't you the same person that kept hammering that the 360 sold poorly in February/March because it was out of stock ?

Make up your mind...

Microsoft itself stated they had issue supplying NA market from Jan to March which means they started the quarter in the US with channels close to being empty. Seeing how easilly you can find a 360 now, that is no longer the case, so they clearly sold more to retailers in NA than retailers sold to customers........

That never came into consideration, but yeah that definetely could be the answer
