I still like Johnny Lee's idea better. Even if you used the helmet, wouldn't you still need another remote to control you character? It'd be easier to just wear LED glasses, put a remote on the the TV and use a second controller for your character.
I would totally buy a game that included LED glasses for an extra 10 bucks or so and had head tracking. Too bad it will never happen :(
