Sony doesn't calculate their revenues based on the total cost for all games at retail, they calculate their revenues as the ammount of revenue collected from licencing plus the ammount of revenue generated from internal development. If third party software sales increase at the expense of first party software your revenues can decline.

Correct, especially if Sony's deals with third parties include license waiving (as is often rumored). Some of those software sales could (in the limit) count as 0 Yen for their bottom-line, whereas first-party software contributes a lot of revenue.
