Yeah i'm not saying i play the game just for the story or anything like that, i'm just saying that i'd rather have a reason to fight bowser and collect stars than just to do it and end the game like that. To me the story element is important for a singleplayer game, but during multiplayer play i could care less.
I guess when i just want to have fun i can play any game, but if i actually want to get immersed in the game i'd need a story somewhere.
