Perhaps that's because you don't fully understand the Samus mythology. While Kratos may be a god...Samus it seems has been crafted into one by the Chozo.
Maybe you are just judging Samus by her abilities at the beginning of her metamorphosis because she has attained space jump, screw attack, and the hyper beam. You see...the Chozo are funny. They make their god work for it. Kratos never worked for anything.
