The Ds lite is a design from God when compared to the DS phat. I mean, it's almost like Nintendo was just screwing around the first time, and when the DS took off, made a better one.
Only problem might be the smaller d-pad.
For games, you should be fine with either The World Ends With You, or Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Both games are quite a bit of re-playability. Mario and Luigi is good to.
Never play FFIII .... looks like this has already been mentioned. Good.
The only thing you have to consider is the colour. May I suggest this.
